An experimental study of liquid unloading in the curve section of horizontal gas wells

Liquid unloading is a very common and important issue in horizontal gas wells, the presence of curve sections increases complexity phenomenon its study. loading well will sharply reduce production, therefore, liquid-unloading onset different curved pipes essential to production. In this work, experiments were conducted with curvatures. Then, critical velocity V sgCR can be determined according measured pressure gradients, liquid holdup, film reversal. This work analyzes factors which lead explores trend pipe curvature’s influence on under laboratory conditions. The experimental results show that rises increase curvature, mainly due centrifugal force. present also compares predicted OLGA model Beggs–Brill data. comparison indicate both models fit relatively data at low superficial velocity, have poor performance high velocity. fits better than error analysis shows most not good agreement Some errors between calculation are out range 50%.
